Summer 2021 Course Schedule Available!!
Dear BSOE Students,
The list of Summer 2021 courses are available and can be viewed at summer.ucsc.edu. In addition to courses offered by the School of Engineering, there are many other classes available that may apply towards BSOE major requirements! (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
We hope the early availability will help students plan for summer over break and in winter quarter. Courses* are searchable by department or by general education now.
The summer term will be in Class Search on March 15. Enrollment opens on May 1.
Tuition will remain the same - $279 per credit for next summer - and Financial Aid is available for eligible students.
Attention EE Seniors! Looking for student to work with our team!
We are looking for a motivated EE student with a strong background in circuit design to work with our team. Our project is related to wireless power harvesting techniques in harsh environments. An ideal candidate should have taken courses such as ECE 157 (RF Hardware), and ECE 173 (High Speed Digital Design). This is a funded project. If you are interested, please email Professor Hamid Sadjadpour (hamid@ucsc.edu) your CV and a copy of your unofficial transcript with a brief description of your background and experience related to this topic.
UCSC Competitive Math Team is Searching for Team Coach and Student Recruits!
The UCSC Competitive Math Team is currently looking for aspiring mathematicians to compete in the 2021 Putnam Competition. We are also in need of a team coach (preferably an alumni, or teacher) to volunteer and assist students with problems. Students of all skill levels of mathematics are welcome to join the team. Alumni of UCSC with a focus on mathematics or computer science are encouraged to join as well.
Our first meeting will be held January 17th on the team's Discord server. Feel free to join the server to collaborate or simply hang out with your cohort of like-minded peers! If you are interested in volunteering as a team coach or have any questions, please contact Chris at ctoukmaj@ucsc.edu or pm him in the server. Your participation would be greatly appreciated!

NeurotechSC placed first in the US at NeuroTechX's competition
NeuroTechSC is proud to announce that we placed 1st in the US at NeuroTechX’s annual student competition! Although McGill University won globally, UCSC’s neurotech club still outperformed UCLA, UCSD, UC Davis, and UIUC in our very first year competing. Our project, Boolepathy, is a silent speech interface that uses machine learning and subvocal recognition to enable synthetic telepathy.
We would like to thank all our members who have contributed their time and effort over the past several months to make this success possible. Moving forward, we’re looking for students who share our passion for neurotechnology to join our community and contribute to our ongoing subvocal recognition project.
If you’re interested in brain-computer interfaces, neuroscience, or artificial intelligence, please join us using the form below!
