Brave the Shave Cancer Research Fundraiser
Ever wondered what you would look like bald?!
Find out at Treehouse Cancer Initiative's annual Brave the Shave fundraiser, sponsored by the Genomics Institute. Volunteers spend the weeks proceeding the event raising money by agreeing to shave their heads. Sign up to shave your head by clicking “join us” on our donation page (link below), or sponsor one of our shavees by clicking on their participant’s name.
On May 4th, join us at the Westside Research Park at 3pm to cheer on our volunteers as they shave their heads!

Looking for TIM 175 Reader/Tutor with Experience in Either Airtable or Wordpress/Wix
TIM 175 (Business Strategy and Information Systems) is looking for a reader/tutor with significant experience using Airtable and a reader/tutor with experience using Wordpress/Wix. You will be working closely with students using those tools to create databases, workflows and websites for a non-profit. If you have significant experience with either of these tools, please send an email to dlee105@ucsc.edu by May 7th describing your experience as well as providing a portfolio that showcases your work.

Digital NEST is hosting its 4th NEST Flight conference on May 4th and May 5th. NEST Flight is a career development conference for young professionals (ages 17-24) currently exploring their career journey. UCSC and Baskin School of Engineering have been one of our biggest supporters and sponsors, and we'd love to have UCSC students attending and representing again in 2022!
The conference is packed with inspiring speakers, hands-on workshops, powerful panel discussions, mentor and peer-to-peer networking sessions. UC Global Health Day 2022 at UC Santa Cruz, May 7, 2022
The UC Global Health Institute (UCGHI) and the UC Santa Cruz Institute for Social Transformation are co-hosting this year’s UC Global Health Day 2022 on Saturday, May 7 at UC Santa Cruz from 8:30am – 6pm PT (in-person and virtually). This day-long collaborative global health conference showcases the innovative research and initiatives occurring across the University of California. This year’s theme of Centering Social Justice in Community Health is exemplified by our diverse speakers who are actively engaged across a variety of disciplines and doing work that has benefited communities at local and global levels.

UCSC's Rocket Team is looking for new members!
We're a student-led group that participates in various aerospace projects throughout the year. Our main focus has been NASA's Student Launch, a university-level national competition which requires us to build large high powered rockets and launch them.
Our team also focuses on various other kinds of aerospace projects as well, so if you're into space, spacecraft, aviation, or just want to do something that's fun, then join Rocket Team! Be a part of the team by joining the Slack using this link.

Would your work or research benefit from drone technology? Interested in learning how to fly drones? Join us on May 17 for a half-day drop in-opportunity to fly Skydio autonomous drones and demo software solutions.
The Skydio team will be on hand to give attendees hands-on flight time and a live look into cutting-edge drone technology. Staff from the CITRIS Initiative for Drone Education and Research (CIDER) will talk about research and educational applications for autonomous drones. Refreshments provided.
