Raspberry Pi Foundation: Paid Facilitator Opportunity in Watsonville for July 2023

Raspberry Pi Foundation's North America team is looking for a summer instructor who will each lead our “Introduction to Python: Variables, functions, and loops” pathway with one of our partners, Digital NEST in Watsonville. Instruction will take place at our partner sites and requires a commitment to facilitating six 60 to 90-minute Python sessions. The Raspberry Pi Foundation will provide all instructional materials and training necessary to deliver the program.

Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable with Python programming or a similar programming language.

  • Must be comfortable teaching a group of 10 to 20 youth, ages 13 to 18.

  • Must be able to work in the US.

  • Teaching or similar experience is a plus.

 

Must be available on these dates:

In-Person Training: 

  • Dates: Thursday July 6th and Friday July 7th

  • Location: The Unity Council - 1900 Fruitvale Avenue, Oakland, CA 94601

 

For the Watsonville Facilitator

  • Community Organization: Digital NEST

  • Program Dates: July 10th - 28th

  • Session Times: TBD, but your portion only runs for about 90 minutes, twice a week

  • We'll reimburse travel costs for students travelling from the Bay Area to Watsonville


This is a contracted, paid opportunity by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. It's a very short commitment, just about 35 hours across 4 weeks.
